Extensive computer training at Brüninghoff

Heiden, 04/20/2010.  Staff training is the most important investment a company can make in its future. Sharing this view, Brüninghoff GmbH & Co. KG places particular value on meeting the highest quality standards, something that can only be guaranteed through sustainable staffing. As a result, the medium-sized construction specialist, located in Heiden, held a need-based training session during the switch to a modern computer system – thereby emphasising its role as a future-oriented and modern employer.

Brüninghoff GmbH & Co. KG set itself a training goal of only 3 months to convert all of the workstations in the business and technical areas from Microsoft Word and Excel 2003 to the more functional 2007 version. In order to guarantee a high level of practicality, the comprehensive training involved nearly one-third of the 300 employees and was carried out in collaboration with the ISO-certified Technische Akademie Ahaus. After an analysis of the staff’s training needs and existing knowledge, the training was carried out on site for four half-days each week. The employees were divided into groups, and the carefully scheduled alternation between work and learning aided concentration. Despite the increased workload, this allowed work to take place efficiently. The approaches remained familiar, and they guaranteed intensive learning that could be directly transferred to practice.

“We are very happy that our comprehensive qualification project could be implemented so smoothly in-house,” says Ulrich Feldhaus, head of the Personnel Department at Brüninghoff. The overall results of the practical, company-specific training were extremely positive.
