Heiden, 6/14/2010. The accident prevention & insurance association for the construction trade, BG Bau, presented Josef Brüninghoff with its 2010 medal of honour for his exemplary dedication and high standards in the area of workplace safety. The founder and CEO of Brüninghoff GmbH & Co. KG accepted the award on behalf of the entire company on June 12, 2010, in front of more than 1000 invited guests at the employee celebration in Heiden.

For more than ten years, Brüninghoff – one of Germany’s leading industrial buildingconstruction specialists – has succeeded in developing its own innovative safety measures, and implementing them in daily practice with the help of BG Bau. Annual employee training sessions for workplace safety play a very important role in this.

The “Construction-site safety” medal was awarded by Division Manager Ralf Kruber and Hermann-Josef-Heidemann from BG Bau. In his award speech, Ralf Kruber particularly praised the high priority given to workplace safety measures within the Brüninghoff company. It was also shown that all of the employees were introduced to the latest workplace safety measures at regular intervals, through comprehensive training steps. Furthermore, he said, Brüninghoff had developed its own safety systems for fall prevention, and it regulated workplace safety on an organisational level by appointing a health and safety coordinator (Sicherheits- und Gesundheitskoordinator, SiGeKO). “The Brüninghoff company is truly impressive,” said Ralf Kruber. Josef Brüninghoff, he said, had an extraordinary business sense and a talent for choosing personnel. This provided the company with the appropriate employees to carry out workplace safety measures and to further develop them.

In his acceptance speech, Josef Brüninghoff primarily thanked his company’s employees, whom he said he always considered the main focus. “Working at dizzying heights is an everyday task for us, so our collaboration with the construction safety association is more important than ever,” said Josef Brüninghoff, General Manager and partner of Brüninghoff GmbH & Co. KG. “In the future, our ongoing goal will be to continue developing accident prevention systems and to continually improve them.”
