2.2 million euros to expand the Heiden siteProduction hall enlarged by 900 sqm
Over the last few weeks, Brüninghoff GmbH & Co. KG completed an unusually innovative expansion project in Heiden: about 2.2 million euros were invested for developing the headoffice. The new showpiece of the company grounds is the approx. 900 sqm extension of the steelwork manufacturing hall, including central concrete heating units. Brüninghoff built ten of these into ready-cast concrete supports that it had manufactured itself. The project is truly one-of-a-kind, because it is the first time Brüninghoff has used this innovative form of commercial hall temperature control. Advantages of the new technology: in addition to creating an even temperature in the building and low air speeds that avoid stirring up dust, it guarantees absolute freedom of space and optimal hall usage. On the financial side, the installation quickly pays for itself because of its high mechanical efficiency and maximised energy efficiency, and there are no additional maintenance costs. By expanding the manufacturing facility, the Brüninghoff experts were once again able to put their competencies in the area of commercial and industrial construction into play. The visually appealing hall at the Heiden site will serve as a reference object in the future, among other things for reinforced concrete parts. The main objective in expanding the hall was to create long-term improvements in the manufacturing and logistics processes for steelwork and paintwork. By optimising the material flow, manufacturing can become even more efficient in the future; the changeover is expected to be complete in 2011. Overall, there is now 3,238 sqm of space available at the Heiden site for the production areas of steelwork and paintwork.
