AIRPORT CORK / POPPENSIEKER & DERIX GMBH & CO. KG
During the construction of a new terminal building at the Cork Airport in Ireland, the entire roof con-struction, primarily made up of steel components, was awarded to Brüninghoff. The client, Poppen-sieker & Derix, chose the hall construction specialist from the Münsterland region because it had competence and capacities in steel as well as wood construction that were useful for this unusual project. Brüninghoff, which was responsible for the construction, manufacturing and assembly of the load-bearing roof structure, installed 45-metre-long glued laminated trusses on site in Ireland in addition to 1,800 tonnes of steel.
